Alberto Iess is a Postdoctoral research fellow in gravitational wave physics at Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. He is involved in the ESCAPE and EOSC Future projects, where he is carrying out the multi-messenger astronomy science project Wavefier, part of the “Extreme Universe” TSP. He earned his PhD in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Sciences in 2021 at the University of Roma Tor Vergata. He is a member of the Virgo Scientific Collaboration since 2017 and of COST Action 17137. His field of research is gravitational wave data analysis, with specific focus on the application of machine learning techniques to detector characterisation, astrophysical signal detection and multi-messenger astronomy.
