Alex is a PhD student in particle physics at Lund University, Sweden. He is currently supervising a Master’s project where machine learning is used to compress large data objects, hoping that this will allow to obtain even more events and larger statistical precision. Alex aims to share this work on the European Open Science Cloud so that it can be used in other fields of research where storage of large amounts of data is also an issue.
