Valerio joined ATLAS in late 2009 for his MSc thesis on early J/psi measurements, earned his PhD in 2014 on the discovery and spin-parity measurement of the Higgs boson, worked at Harvard as a post-doctoral fellow on Dark Matter and heavy resonance searches at the LHC. Since late 2017 he is staff scientist at INFN Roma, working on searches for Dark Matter and other new phenomena at ATLAS and DarkSide, as well as on the ATLAS muon trigger and DarkSide SiPM characterization and reconstruction algorithms. Passionate about machine learning, statistical analysis and outreach.
