ESCAPE WP2 DIOS (Data Infrastructure for Open Science) aimed to deploy a data management service (Rucio) instance with three partner storage sites included by the end of Month 18 (July 2020) of the ESCAPE project. We are very pleased to show that we now (July 2020) have this pilot data lake up and running, with ten sites. Each site contributes storage and network monitoring equipment, and access to the data lake is provided by our own identity and access management instance. Real experimental data are being managed in the data lake, we are therefore in an excellent position to move on to the next phase of the WP2 work which focuses on testing and understanding the capabilities of the pilot.
